Tuning Other RF Equipment Correctly
When using other equipment such as Satellite, Video, Games Consoles etc.... If you are not using a direct connection such as a SCART or AV lead please observe the following.
Without special leads you will need to tune your additional equipment to your TV set using the standard RF socket. (AERIAL SOCKET). Some such equipment will be pretuned by the manufacturer and may not adjustable. If however you can make manual adjustments, and wish to keep your picture and sound quality to a good standard without interference from other frequencies (bleed over), you will need to make sure that the channels/frequencies you choose are free from such problems
In general for this area ( see map) we use TV channels 21 - 24 - 27 - 31 - 39. So firstly and foremost be sure not to tune additional equipment to any of these OR adjacent channel frequencies.
EXAMPLE : If you are using channel 27 which is BBC2 do not tune additional equipment to channels 26 or 28.
The channels to avoid for our area are as follows :
21 - 22 - 23 - 24 - 25 - 26 - 27 - 28 - 29 - 30 - 31 - 32 - 33 - 34 - 35 - 36 - 37 - 38 - 39 - 40
41 - 44 and 48
Other frequencies should be fine and cause no problem, but remember if you add more than one item of equipment in this fashion (via RF socket) be sure to not set them on adjacent channels. Usually if you select a channel number with a multiple of 6 it should be fine.
EXAMPLE : If you tune your video to channel 50 and want to add a second one or other equipment, tuning the next item to channel 56 should be clear of interference .
NOTE
Please bare in mind if you receive your TV signals from transmitters other than the SANDY HEATH Transmitter the channel numbers shown will most likely be different, though the principle will remain the same.
